We guarantee our prices are extremely competetive and should be the BEST prices you will find on-line, along with delivering the very best service. For this reason, we offer a price match against other on-line sellers. If you find the same product elsewhere on line, give us a call on 0345 224 3691 and we will match or even beat it! Note that the following conditions must be met for the price match to apply:
- The item must be available on a UK website at the advertised price, and readily available to purchase, with a like for like delivery offering.
-The item in question must have the same specifications, quantity and be produced by the same manufacturer - although we will usually price match even if made by a different manufacturer, as long as its a comparable quality.
- Auction sites such as ebay and amazon do not qualify for price match.
- The price match cannot be used in conjunction with any discount codes or promotional items.
- If there are pricing errors on competitors sites that are clear typographical pricing errors, these will not be matched.
- Note that for corrugated lines (boxes/cartons), the item must be of the same specification (fluting and thickness) and be unbranded.

Four heavy-duty clear packing tapes cover the range: ProLoc Low Noise Clear in 48mm and 72mm, Clear Vinyl (PVC), and Umax Extra Length 150M.
ProLoc 48mm x 66M is the daily e-commerce choice at 45µm with low-noise acrylic adhesive, from £6.95 for six rolls, dropping to roughly 86p per roll at 144.
ProLoc 72mm covers wider seams and replaces a second strip on bulky cartons, while Clear Vinyl resists moisture and abrasion for heavyweight goods and stored parcels.
Umax Extra Length seals more than twice the parcels per roll on high-volume benches, though it needs a Umax dispenser rather than a standard tape gun.
Globe Packaging stocks all four grades alongside 3-inch tape guns and Umax dispensers, with same-day dispatch on orders placed by 4 pm from our UK depot.
Heavy-duty clear packing tape earns the label through three specs: a thicker micron film, a heavier adhesive coating, and a width wide enough to close the seam in one pass. Most UK packing operations use 48mm as standard, and the step up from 38µm to 45µm backing separates everyday tape from a heavy-duty grade.
Work out roll count before you order. A 66M roll yields around 130 half-metre strips, so a packer sealing 200 parcels a day at two strips each gets through roughly three rolls in an eight-hour shift. That is where 150M rolls pay off.
Colour has nothing to do with strength. Clear and brown tapes are built to the same specifications in the same materials, so clear is simply the choice when box graphics, labels or barcodes need to stay readable under the seal.

Micron thickness, width, roll length and adhesive type determine
how clear packing tape performs on the bench.
Film Thickness in Microns
Micron thickness, written as µm, measures the backing film. It sets tensile strength and resistance to stretching when a roll is pulled at speed on a packing bench.
Thickness also changes consumption. A 45µm backing with a heavier glue coating holds on fewer passes than 38µm tape. Cost per roll rises. Cost per parcel often falls. Vinyl uses a different film type again, with higher tensile strength than standard polypropylene box-sealing grades.
Clear packing tape is manufactured in 1" (25mm), 2" (2" is a nominal size, supplied as 48mm or 50mm depending on the line) and 3" (72mm) widths. The 72mm width covers more of the seam and reduces the need for a second strip.
Roll length is 66M for both polypropylene and vinyl. Umax extra-length rolls run 150M in a 2" width and cut roll changes on high-volume benches.
Acrylic adhesive is the standard for clear tape. It stays transparent over time, resists yellowing and performs consistently at normal warehouse temperatures. Low-noise acrylic systems carry additional glue and unwind without the sharp noise of standard tape.
Vinyl tape uses a more aggressive adhesive behind a tougher backing. It resists moisture, wear, and abrasion, making it ideal for parcels held in storage or moved over long distances.
A 45µm polypropylene tape with a low-noise acrylic adhesive and extra glue, produced for industrial and e-commerce use. It is our best-selling tape to businesses across all sectors, and it grips better than standard polypropylene at the same width.
Six rolls cost £6.95, 36 rolls £34.95, and 144 rolls £124.00, which is roughly 86p per roll at case volume.

ProLoc Low Noise Clear Tape offers 45µm polypropylene backing with extra acrylic adhesive
for industrial and e-commerce packing.
The strongest clear grade in the range. Vinyl is used for heavyweight and delicate items, and for boxes stored or moved over long distances, because it stays durable against moisture, wear, and abrasion. It is a standard choice in the removals trade and in warehouse environments.
KD clear vinyl starts at £16.95 for six rolls, with 36 rolls at £76.00. We also stock Prima clear vinyl, with guaranteed roll lengths.
The same 45µm specification in a 3" width. The additional 24mm of coverage across each seam replaces a second 48mm strip, reducing application time on larger cartons. Application requires a 3" tape gun, priced from £8.49 and sized for 72mm tape on 75mm cores.
Six rolls cost £9.95, 24 rolls £32.95, and 48 rolls £62.00.
A low-noise clear polypropylene tape supplied on 150M rolls rather than the standard 66M. Globe Packaging is an official Umax distributor, and the film is thicker than generic extra-length tape on the market. The format suits high-volume benches, where each roll seals more than twice the parcels before a change is needed.
Six rolls cost £17.95, 36 rolls £79.95, and 144 rolls £284.00. Application requires a Umax dispenser rather than a standard tape gun.

Globe Packaging supplies every clear tape grade with trade pricing and a price match guarantee for confident spec choices.
Micron thickness, width and adhesive type decide whether a seam holds, and the right combination depends on what sits inside the box. Light parcels seal reliably on 38µm to 40µm film, heavier cartons run more economically on 45µm, and anything around 15kg or held in storage calls for vinyl.
At Globe Packaging, we supply every grade above alongside the 3-inch tape guns and Umax dispensers the wider formats need, all backed by a price match guarantee so picking vinyl over 45µm polypropylene stays a decision about the parcel rather than the budget. Orders placed by 4pm leave our 60,000 sq ft UK depot the same day, with free next working day delivery on UK Mainland orders over £50 excluding VAT. Order your heavy-duty clear tape today.
Recycled board has a dustier, more porous surface than virgin kraft, which reduces adhesion. Tapes carrying a heavier glue coating hold better on recycled cartons than standard 38µm polypropylene, which often lifts at the edges within a day or two of packing.
Colour has no effect on strength. Clear and brown tapes are manufactured to the same specifications in the same materials, so a 45µm clear roll performs similarly to its brown equivalent. Clear is chosen when printed box graphics, labels or barcodes need to stay visible under the seal.
Acrylic adhesives lose initial tack in cold conditions and need firmer pressure on application. Vinyl holds up better in unheated storage because of its more aggressive adhesive. In consistently cold environments, apply with a tape gun and press each strip down along its full length.
Most UK kerbside and commercial cardboard recycling accepts boxes with plastic tape attached, as the tape separates during pulping. Removing it first improves the process. Operations with stricter requirements can switch to gummed paper tape, which is made from recycled paper, bonds into the board and is fully recyclable.
Yes. We produce custom-printed tape in both low-noise polypropylene and extra-strength vinyl at 48mm x 66M, so branding sits on the same heavy-duty specification described above. Two-colour print is standard, with other widths and additional print colours available on request.
